These textile artworks are inspired by some characteristic architectural elements of Palazzo Corsini, an ancient Palazzo with beautiful gardens in the centre of Florence. Every year this site hosts the fine craft exhibition Artigianato & Palazzo. For its 30th edition in September 2024, I created 3 artworks for the collective exhibition: Portico I, II and III. The contours of these works refer to the portico of the Palazzo, in the shape of three arches. The interior of the work reflects the architectural composition of the Gardens, here and there half-hidden by the fringes, as if it were an abstract view. Fiber art, soft artworks with felt backing, 150 x 75 cm plus fringes. Made with tufting, weaving, embroidery, punchneedle, crochet and passementerie. Wool, merino wool, cotton, mixed yarns, felt. The Portici collection was exhibited at the exhibition ‘ 30 al Cubo’, Artigianato e Palazzo 2024.
