TECHNIQUE: HANDTUFTED TAPESTRY SIZE 120 X 120 CM NUMBERED ARTWORK 11-2022 WORK SELECTED FOR PALLAVICINI ART PRIZE, PALAZZO PALLAVICINI, BOLOGNA 9-18 SEPTEMBER 2022 This tapestry was created between February and March 2022 during the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. It is inspired by a sculpture of a praying figure seen in the Museum of Palazzo Bardini in Florence. It is based on a design of a composition of intertwining lines (war, chaos) on the canvas. The outlines of the praying figure combine with the chaotic lines and several other images of embracing figures are added, one of these embracing the figure in prayer.
